The Radiation Therapist - Cancer Treatment Specialist plays a critical role in the delivery of high-quality cancer care at Nova Scotia Health Authority. This position requires a skilled professional to accurately prepare patients and their charts for radiation treatments, ensuring precise and effective treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities- Fabricate accessories, such as casts, to support treatment delivery
- Operate conventional simulators and CT scanners with simulation software to ensure accurate treatment localization
- Perform treatment calculations, leveraging in-depth knowledge of treatment plans, dosimetry, and outputs
- Enter data into record and verify systems and online image acquisition systems
- Deliver treatment, including external beam therapy and brachytherapy in the operating room, utilizing multiple units and technologies
- Handle radioactive sources with precision and care
- Teach and precept radiation therapy students, residents, and visiting students
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiation Therapist - Cancer Treatment Specialist to join our team. To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy Program in Canada or a non-Canadian program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists
- License and registration with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals
- Excellent working knowledge of relevant computer software programs
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
- Competencies in other languages, with French being an asset
Nova Scotia Health Authority offers a competitive compensation package, including:
- $43.45 - $50.66 Hourly
