Radiation Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the treatment of cancer patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare patients and their charts for radiation treatments, including fabrication of accessories and treatment localization.
- Operate conventional simulators and CT scanners with simulation software to plan and deliver treatment.
- Enter data into record and verify systems and online image acquisition systems.
- Deliver treatment using external beam therapy and brachytherapy in the OR, utilizing multiple different units and technologies.
- Handle radioactive sources and teach and precept radiation therapy students, residents, and visiting students.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Radiation Therapist who is passionate about delivering high-quality care to our patients. To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Program in Canada or a non-Canadian program recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists.
- License and registration with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals.
- Excellent working knowledge of relevant computer software programs.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $43.45 - $50.66 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
