We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. As a key member of our Switchgear Assembly department, you will play a critical role in the construction of electrical units and switchgear products.
About the Role
- Assemble electrical units and switchgear products according to drawings and instructions.
- Build and assemble mechanical components for Switchgear units.
- Repair identified discrepancies with Switchgear units.
- Promote a safety culture and attend all safety meetings.
- Ensure quality by following standard work instructions and identifying potential risks to product quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow direction from Senior Assemblers and Lead Assemblers.
- Effective time management and ability to stay focused on goals and responsibilities.
- Self-starter with ability to take on multiple tasks and drive results.
- Adaptability to new ideas, technology, and processes.
- Basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Minimum education level of a High School Diploma and 0-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions
- Temperature-controlled manufacturing environment with occasional outside activities.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment at all times.
- Ability to work from ladders and scaffolding.
Physical Requirements
- Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling.
- Continuous standing, walking, and bending.
- Ability to climb stairs frequently.
- Use of hand tools and power tools for long periods.
