Position Title: Senior Technology Specialist, DevOps Reports To: Senior Technology Manager, Shared Services Department: IT Individual Insurance Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangements: This role operates in a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence a minimum of two consecutive days every other week, plus an additional day each month. There is flexibility for more in-office work as needed.

Role Overview: Accoravillage is expanding its IT Individual Insurance team and is seeking a Senior Technology Specialist, DevOps. This position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing shared technology solutions and infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop, test, launch, and refine solutions that improve service experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of corporate policies, standards, and procedures to ensure effective architecture, governance, and management of technical systems and solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to enhance client satisfaction by improving system and product quality through issue identification, ongoing maintenance, and solution implementation.
  • Engage in hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of components, including hardware and application software maintenance, upgrades, or replacements.
  • Assist in maintaining internal processes and quality system management documentation to uphold standards.
  • Evaluate systems and processes to identify workflow improvement opportunities and enhance efficiencies.
  • Monitor capacity usage and performance of assigned technologies to ensure operational availability and process integrity.
  • Provide technical guidance to peers and end-users regarding technologies that facilitate continuous delivery of shared solutions.
  • Offer technical and practice leadership, continuously evolving capabilities and technologies that support Continuous Delivery, including change and review workflows, automated CI/CD, configuration management, and continuous testing.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT with expertise across multiple domains.
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in computer science, computer systems engineering, or software engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in software development/design and CI/CD pipelines across various projects.
  • Proficient in using Azure DevOps Services for creating and managing automated pipelines for building, testing, and deploying code changes.
  • Experience with tools that support security scanning and test automation.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and other container management solutions.
  • Experience in cloud computing, PaaS, IaaS, and related areas is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Zabbix, OPNET, and/or SPLUNK.
  • Ability to streamline development processes, reduce manual errors, and ensure timely delivery of new features.
  • Experience working with development teams to integrate code quality checks, automated testing, and deployment strategies in the pipeline.
  • Knowledge of automated agile environments delivering infrastructure and monitoring high-traffic applications.
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance policies.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis for system outages or performance issues.
