Position Title: Senior Technology Specialist, DevOps Reports To: Senior Technology Manager, Shared Services
Department: IT Individual Insurance Term: Permanent Full-Time
Work Arrangements: This role operates in a hybrid model. You will be expected to work from our office a minimum of two consecutive days every other week, along with an additional assigned day each month. More frequent office attendance is encouraged, and some roles may necessitate additional in-office work.
The Opportunity: Accoravillage is expanding, and we are in search of a Senior Technology Specialist, DevOps to enhance our Individual Insurance IT team.
This position will be responsible for maintaining and improving shared technological solutions and infrastructure, collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop, test, launch, and refine solutions that enhance the service experience for our organization. The role also involves developing and implementing infrastructure technologies that align with business objectives and client needs.
Furthermore, this position will provide technical and operational leadership, continuously advancing the capabilities and technologies that facilitate the ongoing delivery of shared infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the establishment of corporate policies, standards, and procedures that ensure effective architecture, governance, and management of Accoravillage's technical systems and solutions.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to enhance client satisfaction by improving system and product quality through issue identification, ongoing maintenance, and solution implementation.
- Engage in hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of components, including maintenance, upgrades, or replacements of hardware and/or application software.
- Assist in maintaining existing internal processes and quality system management documentation to uphold quality standards.
- Evaluate systems and processes to uncover opportunities for workflow improvements and enhanced efficiencies.
- Monitor capacity usage and performance of assigned technologies to ensure operational availability and process integrity.
- Provide technical guidance to peers and/or end-users regarding technologies that enable continuous delivery of shared solutions.
- Offer technical and operational leadership, continuously evolving the capabilities and technologies that support Continuous Delivery, including change and review workflows, automated CI/CD processes, configuration management, and stewardship of CI/CD tools/platforms.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in IT, with expertise across multiple domains.
- A post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field such as computer science, computer systems engineering, or software engineering.
- Hands-on experience in software development/design and CI/CD pipelines across various projects.
- Proficiency in using Azure DevOps Services to create and manage automated pipelines for building, testing, and deploying code changes.
- Experience with integrating tools for security scanning and test automation.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and other container management solutions.
- Experience in cloud computing, PaaS, IaaS, and related areas is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Zabbix, OPNET, and/or SPLUNK, or any other monitoring tools/processes.
- Ability to streamline the development process, minimize manual errors, and ensure rapid delivery of new features to users.
- Experience collaborating with development teams to integrate code quality checks, automated testing, and deployment strategies in the pipeline, maintaining high standards of software quality and velocity.
- Experience in automated agile environments delivering infrastructure; monitoring and tooling for high-traffic applications.
- Knowledge of enforcing security best practices and compliance policies.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis for system outages or performance issues.
