Position Title: Senior Technology Specialist, DevOps Reports To: Senior Technology Manager, Shared Services

Work Arrangements: This position operates in a hybrid model. You will be required to work in our office a minimum of two (2) consecutive days every other week, along with an additional day each month. You are encouraged to work from the office more frequently if desired.

The Opportunity: Accoravillage is expanding, and we are seeking a Senior Technology Specialist, DevOps to enhance our Individual Insurance IT team.

This role is responsible for maintaining and improving shared technology solutions and infrastructure, collaborating with a diverse team to develop, test, launch, and refine solutions that enhance the service experience for our organization. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing and implementing infrastructure technologies that align with business priorities and capabilities for both internal and external clients.

Moreover, this position will provide technical and practice leadership, continuously evolving the capabilities and technologies that facilitate the ongoing delivery of shared infrastructure systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of corporate policies, standards, and procedures that ensure effective architecture, governance, and management of Accoravillage's technical systems and solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to enhance client satisfaction by improving system and product quality through issue identification, ongoing maintenance, and solution implementation.
  • Engage in hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of components, including the maintenance, upgrading, or replacement of hardware and/or application software.
  • Assist in maintaining existing internal processes and quality system management documentation to uphold quality standards.
  • Evaluate systems and processes to identify opportunities for workflow improvements and enhanced efficiencies.
  • Monitor capacity usage and performance of assigned technologies to ensure operational availability and process integrity.
  • Provide technical guidance to peers and/or end-users regarding technologies that support the continuous delivery of shared solutions.
  • Offer technical and practice leadership, fostering the continuous evolution of capabilities and technologies that enable Continuous Delivery, including change and review workflows, automated CI/CD (continuous integration, continuous deployments), configuration management, and continuous testing.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT, with expertise across multiple domains.
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field such as computer science, computer systems engineering, or software engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in software development/design and CI/CD pipelines across various projects.
  • Proficient in using Azure DevOps Services to create and manage automated pipelines for building, testing, and deploying code changes.
  • Experience with tools that support security scanning and test automation.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and other container management solutions.
  • Experience in cloud computing, PaaS, IaaS, and related areas is highly desirable.
  • Proficient with monitoring tools like Zabbix, OPNET, and/or SPLUNK, or any other monitoring tools/processes.
  • Ability to streamline the development process, minimize manual errors, and ensure timely delivery of new features to users.
  • Experience working with development teams to integrate code quality checks, automated testing, and deployment strategies in the pipeline, maintaining high standards of software quality and velocity.
  • Experience in automated agile environments delivering infrastructure; monitoring and tooling for high-traffic applications.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance policies.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis for system outages or performance issues.
