Director of Corporate

Strides Toronto is a multi-service agency dedicated to improving the mental, social, and physical health of infants, children, and youth from prenatal stages to age 29, and their families. We strive to build strength and resilience through equitable, accessible, and client-driven services, system leadership, and advocacy.

As a key member of our Senior Management Team, the Director of Corporate will provide strategic leadership for the planning and implementation of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) initiatives, utilizing an anti-racism and anti-oppression framework. This role will lead the advancement of our strategy related to health equity and the social determinants of health, and implement best practices in IDEA, anti-racism, and anti-Black racism across the organization.

The Director will also lead and provide ongoing support for sector-wide IDEA-related initiatives and activities, as part of our Lead Agency role for child and youth mental health in Toronto. This role will act as a resource to other team members on IDEA principles and related topics, and work closely with our Vice-President, Corporate Services and Vice President, Service Excellence to ensure EDI best practices are reflected in our Corporate Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement IDEA initiatives to promote equity and inclusion
  • Lead the advancement of our strategy related to health equity and the social determinants of health
  • Implement best practices in IDEA, anti-racism, and anti-Black racism across the organization
  • Provide ongoing support for sector-wide IDEA-related initiatives and activities
  • Act as a resource to other team members on IDEA principles and related topics
Requirements:
  • A deep commitment to advancing reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility
  • Senior leadership experience and direct experience working closely with historically marginalized communities
  • Understanding of IDEA best practices in the context of not-for-profit environments
  • Experience managing a broad IDEA portfolio and developing budgets
  • Ability to develop, facilitate, and evaluate training initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree in human rights, equity, diversity, social justice, or social work
