We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit at Fraser Health Authority. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with mental health issues.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans to maximize their independence and safety.
- Care Planning and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement care plans that address patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Treatment and Education: Provide occupational therapy interventions, including cognitive, behavioral, and psycho-educational strategies, to patients and their caregivers.
- Group Therapy and Support: Facilitate group therapy sessions and provide support to patients and their families.
- Transition Planning: Assist patients in transitioning back to the community by identifying and linking them with community resources and services.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of patient assessments, progress, and outcomes.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices in occupational therapy and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Baccalaureate degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC)
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists - BC (CAOT-BC)
- One (1) year's recent, related experience in a psychiatric setting or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
