About the Job

As an Occupational Therapist, you will work in a dynamic healthcare environment, providing expert services to patients with physical and cognitive impairments. Your primary goal is to help patients achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes, enabling them to perform daily activities and live independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and cognitive abilities, identifying areas of strength and weakness to develop targeted treatment plans.
  • Treatment Planning and Intervention: Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, utilizing a range of therapies and interventions to promote patient progress and independence.
  • Collaboration and Education: Work closely with patients, caregivers, and healthcare teams to provide education and support, promoting a collaborative and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of patient progress, including assessment results, treatment plans, and outcomes.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices and research in occupational therapy.

Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational therapy.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice, including assessment and treatment techniques, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare teams.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting, bending, and transporting patients, and working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
