Role Overview
The Finance and Operations team within the Private Equity division is seeking a Finance Operations Manager . This position plays a crucial role in managing fund operations and fulfilling private reporting obligations. The Private Equity team is responsible for comprehensive financial reporting, treasury management, and fund operations.
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Finance Operations Manager will oversee fund operations and the specific reporting requirements for Brookfield's Private Equity division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough reviews of quarterly reports for investors, including financial statements prepared in accordance with US GAAP and tracking fund and investment performance.
- Evaluate public reporting templates that comply with IFRS standards.
- Assess investor PCAP and available commitment schedules on a quarterly basis.
- Present quarterly financial results to senior management.
- Collaborate with various service providers to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of information provided.
- Review valuations of fund investments on a quarterly basis.
- Analyze accounting packages for individual legal entities, including tax financials.
- Prepare internal and external audit requests while maintaining proper control documentation.
- Review capital calls and distributions to investors.
- Assist in managing fund operations, including addressing investor inquiries, forecasting, and compliance.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the legal structures of various funds and their impact on fund flows and consolidation.
- Aid in the analysis of complex accounting issues as they arise.
- Contribute to enhancements in the reporting process and provide mentorship to team members.
- Undertake special projects and ad hoc requests as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A university degree is required.
- A professional accounting designation (CPA/CA preferred) is advantageous.
- A minimum of five years of progressive experience in finance and/or accounting roles.
- Familiarity with private funds and knowledge of the investment management sector, particularly regarding complex ownership structures, is beneficial.
- Proven leadership skills and a proactive approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- A commitment to achieving collective goals and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing shifting priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in financial systems, particularly advanced Excel.
- Self-motivated and proactive in managing workload and pursuing professional development.
