Job Title: Education Support Specialist

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Education Support Specialist to join our team at School District #48 (Sea to Sky). As an Education Support Specialist, you will provide assistance to students with physical disabilities, chronic health impairments, intellectual disabilities, and/or social, emotional, and behavioral problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s).
  • Assist students with physical disabilities, chronic health impairments, intellectual disabilities, and/or social, emotional, and behavioral problems.
  • Supervise a designated area either inside or outside the school, before, during, and/or after school as defined by the terms of the assignment.
  • Support the achievement of stated program goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience.
  • A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program.
  • Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of basic First Aid.
  • Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).
