About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Vice-President to join our team at Powernode Computer Inc. This is a permanent position, working 30 hours per week, with English as the primary language of communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate material, human, and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs, ensuring optimal utilization and alignment with business objectives.
  • Department Establishment: Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Regional Coordination: Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions, or departments, promoting collaboration and driving business results.
  • Strategic Planning: Establish objectives for the organization and formulate or approve policies and programs, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and mission.
  • Representation: Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions, maintaining a professional and diplomatic demeanor.
  • Leadership Development: Select middle managers, directors, or other executive staff; delegate the necessary authority to them and create optimum working conditions, promoting a culture of growth and development.
  • Financial and Administrative Controls: Establish financial and administrative controls; formulate and approve promotional campaigns; and approve overall human resources planning, ensuring the company's financial stability and operational efficiency.
Supervision and Team Management
  • Team Size: Supervise a team of more than 20 people, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure the team's success.
Computer and Technology Knowledge
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office, with the ability to adapt to new technologies and systems.
Security and Safety
  • Criminal Record Check: Conduct regular criminal record checks, ensuring a safe and secure work environment.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and a large workload, requiring attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Settlement Support: Assist with the immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, including housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing.

  • Cultural Competency Training: Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees, creating a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
Support for Visible Minorities
  • Diversity and Cross-Cultural Training: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
