Job Title: Refrigeration HVAC Technician

Ainsworth, a subsidiary of GDI, is seeking a skilled Refrigeration HVAC Technician to join our team in Edmonton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as refrigeration equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent Ainsworth in a professional and courteous manner, providing excellent customer service.
  • Read, interpret, and create drawings and specifications.
  • Install and maintain air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Overhaul and service heating and air conditioning units and systems.
  • Repair and replace worn or broken parts on condensers, compressors, and water and vacuum pumps.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with heating and air conditioning units and systems.
  • Install motors, thermostats, and humidistats.
  • Provide instruction to customers on proper care and maintenance.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned apprentices.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of modern equipment and regulations.
  • Interpret company policies and enforce safety regulations.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthy manner.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent qualification from a certified college.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Valid and up-to-date Certificate of Qualification.
  • Knowledge and skill of tools, equipment, and materials and practices of the trade.
  • Knowledge of applicable HVAC/R codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
