Woodworking Machine Operator

Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.

Experience: A minimum of 1 year and up to 2 years of relevant experience is necessary.

Work Environment: The role involves working in conditions that may be noisy, dusty, and hot.

Work Setting: Employment opportunities are available within a wood products manufacturing facility or a furniture production company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, program, and operate various computerized or manual woodworking machinery.
  • Utilize gluing machines to bond wood pieces or apply wood veneer to surfaces.
  • Operate specialized woodworking machines to produce wood products.
  • Interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions accurately.
  • Maintain machinery and equipment through cleaning and lubrication.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Engage in repetitive tasks.
  • Handle heavy loads as part of the job requirements.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Exhibit manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate hand-eye coordination.
  • Alternate between sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
  • Stand for extended periods when necessary.

Required Tools and Equipment:

  • Personal tools and safety equipment are essential.
  • Steel-toed safety boots, hard hats, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, masks, and ear plugs are mandatory.

Employment Type: This is a permanent position.

Work Language: Proficiency in English is required.

Hours: The position requires a commitment of 44 hours per week.
