This role is crucial in providing families with the support they need to thrive. You will work directly with individuals and families, empowering them to develop essential life skills, improve parenting practices, and build stronger relationships.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualized or family-centered support in areas such as parenting techniques, budgeting, conflict resolution, and self-esteem building.
- Assist clients in establishing a robust network of community and family support.
- Connect clients with valuable community resources to enhance their well-being.
- Collaborate with parents to develop effective childcare strategies, coping mechanisms, household management skills, and other essential life skills.
- Facilitate and supervise family visits, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Maintain open communication with Child Protection Social Workers and foster care providers to ensure coordinated support for families.
- Regularly review caseloads with supervisors and Child Protection Social Workers to monitor progress and adjust case plans as needed.
- Offer support to foster caregivers and children in care, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
- Transport clients, infants, children, and youth in care, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Provide evidence in court proceedings under the Child Protection Act, upholding legal requirements and advocating for the best interests of children.
- Facilitate group work sessions to promote shared learning and support among families.
- Maintain accurate daily case notes and client files within established systems.
This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to effectively meet the needs of families.
