Family Service Coordinator

The Government of Prince Edward Island is seeking a highly skilled Family Service Worker to join our team. As a key member of the Child Protection Team, you will provide critical support to families in need, helping them to develop essential life skills, parenting knowledge, and a strong support network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and family support in areas such as parenting, budgeting, life skills, and conflict resolution.
- Assist clients in connecting with community resources and developing their own support network.
- Work with parents to develop improved skills in childcare, coping skills, and household maintenance.
- Facilitate and supervise family visits, and communicate with Child Protection Social Workers and foster care providers.
- Review caseloads with supervisors and social workers to ensure progress and make necessary adjustments.
- Provide support to foster caregivers and children-in-care, and transport clients as needed.
- Prepare evidence for Court proceedings under the Child Protection Act, and facilitate group work.
- Maintain accurate case notes and client files on ISM.
Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal hours as needed.
- Knowledge of community resources and support services.
