About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Worker to provide support to our Child Protection Workers in the Marathon District Office. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a critical role in scheduling and facilitating supervised access, providing social service support functions, and contributing to therapeutic plans and programs for individuals, families, children, and youth receiving services from our office.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support to Child Protection Workers in scheduling and facilitating supervised access
- Contribute to therapeutic plans and programs for individuals, families, children, and youth
- Provide a wide range of social service support functions, including education and empowerment
- Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and community collaterals to achieve positive outcomes
- Assess immediate risk concerns and respond in an appropriate and safe manner
- Develop and implement parenting intervention strategies via feedback, coaching, and collaborative goal setting
- Child and Youth Worker Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective organization and planning skills to prioritize tasks
- Strong observation skills and ability to assess risk concerns
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Reliable vehicle, safe driving record, and valid G Driver's Licence
- Current Criminal Records Check (Vulnerable Sector)
