Job Title: Family Support Specialist

At The Children's Aid Society of the District of Thunder Bay, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team. As a Family Support Specialist, you will provide critical support to our Child Protection Workers in the Marathon District Office, focusing on scheduling and facilitating supervised access. Your expertise will be instrumental in contributing to therapeutic plans and programs for individuals, families, children, and youth receiving services from our office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Child Protection Workers in the Marathon District Office
  • Schedule and facilitate supervised access
  • Contribute to therapeutic plans and programs for individuals, families, children, and youth
  • Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and community partners
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families and children
  • Assess and respond to immediate risk concerns
  • Provide parenting intervention strategies and coaching
  • Document information in a clear and concise manner

Requirements:

  • Child and Youth Worker Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong observation and assessment skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Reliable vehicle and valid G Driver's Licence
  • Current Criminal Records Check (Vulnerable Sector)
