About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Worker to provide support to Child Protection Workers in the Marathon District Office. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in scheduling and facilitating supervised access, providing social service support functions, and contributing to therapeutic plans and programs for individuals, families, children, and youth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to Child Protection Workers in the Marathon District Office
  • Schedule and facilitate supervised access
  • Provide social service support functions
  • Contribute to therapeutic plans and programs
  • Work collaboratively with children, caregivers, and community collaterals
  • Develop and maintain trusting relationships with families and children
  • Assess and respond to immediate risk concerns
  • Present balanced assessments of parenting strengths and challenges
  • Provide parenting intervention strategies via feedback, coaching, and collaborative goal setting
Requirements:
  • Child and Youth Worker Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective organization and planning skills
  • Strong observation skills and ability to assess risk concerns
  • Ability to work collaboratively and think critically
  • Reliable vehicle, safe driving record, and valid G Driver's Licence
  • Current Criminal Records Check (Vulnerable Sector)
