About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Operator to join our team at Hines. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to tenant service requests and emergencies in a professional and timely manner
  • Perform daily rounds and log readings to ensure optimal building performance
  • Complete preventive and demand maintenance tasks on HVAC, plumbing, and life safety systems
  • Start-up and shutdown major building equipment, ensuring maximum energy efficiency
  • Inspect, operate, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems, including boilers, chillers, and generators
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including replacing washers, faucets, and pumps
  • Ensure mechanical rooms and work areas are kept safe, clean, and organized
  • Work in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable codes
  • Escalate unusual events or occurrences to supervisor

Requirements

  • BES diploma or 5th class Operating Engineer certification
  • Four or more years of experience in facilities operation and maintenance
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written)
