About the Role

The Building Operator, Power or Stationary Operating Engineer, or Maintenance Technician is a key member of the Ainsworth team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain non-critical equipment, including refrigeration, heat exchangers, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and hot water systems.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment to ensure proper functioning, record readings, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including fires, evacuations, equipment failures, and customer concerns.
  • Comply with departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Perform additional job duties as requested.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, standby emergency power, uninterruptible power supplies, and associated infrastructure.
  • Power or Stationary Operating Engineer Class 4 (not required).
  • Refrigeration Operator Class B (not required).
  • Building Environmental Systems 1 or 2 (preferred).
  • Facility Operations Certificate (preferred).
