About the Role

The Building Operator will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of non-critical equipment, including refrigeration, heat exchangers, HVAC, electrical, and hot water systems. This role will also involve monitoring and adjusting equipment to ensure proper functioning, as well as performing routine assessments and tests to identify areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain non-critical equipment, including refrigeration, heat exchangers, HVAC, electrical, and hot water systems.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment to ensure proper functioning, and perform routine assessments and tests to identify areas for improvement.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as equipment failure or customer concerns.
  • Comply with departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, standby emergency power, and uninterruptible power supplies.
  • Power or Stationary Operating Engineer Class 4 (not required).
  • Refrigeration Operator Class B (not required).
  • Building Environmental Systems 1 or 2 (preferred).
  • Facility Operations Certificate (preferred).
