Position Overview:

Axis Family Resources Ltd. is seeking Specialized Support Caregivers to assist individuals residing in Specialized Supportive Housing within Kelowna, Penticton, or Vernon, BC. Our mission is centered around fostering and nurturing healthy relationships with the individuals we serve through a trauma-informed approach. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating a supportive and positive atmosphere that encourages our clients to reach their educational, social, and recreational aspirations while emphasizing the development of essential daily living skills. Key attributes for success in this position include resilience, empathy, patience, and the capacity to establish and uphold healthy boundaries.

As a Specialized Support Caregiver, you will receive comprehensive training and continuous 24-hour on-call assistance.

Health and Safety Requirement: Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination may be necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A diploma in Community Services, Health Care Aid, Human Services, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in social services, or a combination of education and experience
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations or behavioral challenges is an asset
  • Reliable transportation and a valid BC driver's license
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD, or other neurobiological conditions is advantageous
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (agency conducted, expenses covered)
  • Level 1 First Aid (including CPR) training and certification provided
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
