Lead Mechanical Engineer for Healthcare Facilities

This position offers a hybrid work model, combining remote work with on-site responsibilities during initial investigations and contractor follow-ups.
- Lead projects from conception to completion, leveraging your technical and professional engineering expertise.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior mechanical engineers.
- Design and coordinate various mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection.
- Conduct technical calculations and utilize software for heating, cooling, ventilation, and drainage loads.
- Prepare engineering assessments and reports.
- Create detailed drawings using Revit or AutoCAD software.
- Compile project specifications and documentation.
- Engage with clients and collaborate with other consultants.
- Ensure timely project delivery and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Review contractor submissions and respond to inquiries during construction.
- Manage contract administration tasks, including change orders and payment certifications.
- Conduct site surveys and routine inspections during the project lifecycle.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Recent involvement in healthcare facility projects.
- Professional Engineer designation with APEGS.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage varying workloads and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, such as the National Building Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, and CSA Z317.
