The BC Legal Management Association is a prominent organization focused on delivering comprehensive business, litigation, and dispute resolution services to clients across Canada and internationally. We are currently in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist with robust experience to become a part of our team. This role will report directly to our Director of Finance and will collaborate closely with all members of the organization as well as external vendors. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Overseeing all third-party payment transactions.
  2. Administering internal expense submissions and reimbursements for staff and legal professionals.
  3. Facilitating requisitions for both general and trust cheques.
  4. Maintaining oversight of partners' discretionary expenditures, including communication of remaining balances.
  5. Recording personal expenses for support staff and legal professionals.
  6. Coordinating the onboarding of new hires within the accounting system.
  7. Providing support and coverage for colleagues in similar roles.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Strong grasp of fundamental accounting principles.
  2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a comparable position; experience within a professional services environment is advantageous.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet stringent deadlines.
  5. Familiarity with iManage and Elite 3E is a plus.
