The BC Legal Management Association is a prominent organization committed to delivering comprehensive support services in the legal sector. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative environment while maintaining the professionalism expected in our industry.
We are currently in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist with substantial experience to enhance our operations. This role will report directly to the Director of Finance and will collaborate closely with all members of the organization as well as external vendors. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing all third-party payment transactions.
- Administering internal expense documentation and reimbursements for staff and legal professionals.
- Facilitating requisitions for both general and trust cheques.
- Tracking and communicating partners' discretionary spending, including remaining balances.
- Recording personal expenses for support staff and legal professionals.
- Coordinating the onboarding of new hires within the accounting system, Elite 3E.
- Providing assistance and coverage for colleagues in similar roles.
Qualifications:
- Strong grasp of fundamental accounting principles.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; experience within a professional services environment is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adhere to tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with iManage and Elite 3E is a plus.
