About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Echo ultrasound examinations as requested in accordance with departmental standards and techniques.
  • Work alongside physicians to assess patients and their conditions.
  • Use non-invasive cardiovascular technology equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound.
  • Sonography Canada certification.
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience in a tertiary care setting an asset.
  • Experience in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, TEE, Dobutamine Stress Echo, Exercise Stress Echo, and Research Echo preferred.
  • Experience with Philips IE 33, Epiq 7 and Xcelera Workstations an asset.
  • Experience with General Electric Vivid E95 an asset.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly.
  • Approximately 12 months.
  • Shift work required, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Compensation and Incentives

$39.96 hourly.

This position is currently eligible for a Market Adjustment of approximately $369.23 biweekly. Eligibility for a Market Adjustment is reviewed periodically.
