Project Overview

Aecon is seeking a highly motivated and organized Project Coordinator Co-op to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project. As part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the validation phase design, procurement, early site preparation, and site mobilization scope for the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of work plans and packages in cooperation with construction and engineering teams.
  • Interpret design documents, drawings, and implement design in the field, ensuring construction activities are performed in accordance with written and approved policy, standards, programs, and applicable procedures.
  • Provide accurate progress reports to tunnel management and assist with finding vendors and completing purchase requisitions on an efficient timeline for procurement.
  • Support TBM and surface shift coordinators, including on-site testing of materials/products, collection of samples, and completing quality control checks.
  • Active involvement in quality assurance, including understanding and implementing policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Proficient written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint applications an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.
  • Familiar with TBM tunneling concept and a desire to learn.
