About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Clerk to join our team at BC Cancer. As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic, providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe and process clinician orders, completing and forwarding requisitions for tests or services, and communicating various information according to procedure.
  • Organize diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients, coordinating numerous interrelated appointments and preparing related instructions for patients.
  • Gather patient information for medical appointments, assisting in facilitating an efficient patient flow and preparing documents for the clinical team and patient.
  • Perform a variety of receptionist duties, including greeting and registering patients, supporting wayfinding, and answering the telephone/switchboard.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of Grade 12.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program.
  • One (1) year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
