Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technologist I to join our team at the Diagnostic Scientific Centre. As a key member of our laboratory department, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, and analysis of diagnostic samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment, and research.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and reporting of diagnostic results to ensure accurate and timely delivery of patient care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless integration of laboratory results into patient care.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of expertise in anatomic pathology procedures and techniques.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory technologies and procedures to ensure optimal patient care.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
  • Able to work with exposure to chemicals and gloves, including formalin, xylene, and bleach.
  • Preferred qualifications include anatomic pathology experience in a clinical setting, basic LIS and Microsoft computer skills, and physical effort requiring manual dexterity.
Working Conditions

This is a casual/relief position with varied shifts and hours. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals and other laboratory hazards.
