Job Summary

The Manitoba Government is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead the Disability Policy Branch. This is a key role that requires strategic leadership, policy expertise, and a commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and programs that support adults living with an intellectual disability, children with disabilities, and their families.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the design and implementation of legislation, policies, and programs, and oversee their enforcement through collaboration with other government agencies.
  • Negotiate in challenging situations, problem solve, and identify solutions that are amenable to all parties.
  • Manage human and financial resources, and translate strategic priorities into clear operational and business plans.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with external agencies, and ensure accountability in the delivery of services.
Requirements
  • Post-Secondary Education in public administration, economics, law, social sciences, or social work, with progressively responsible senior level management experience.
  • Experience providing leadership and direction in the design and implementation of legislation, policies, and programs, and overseeing their enforcement through collaboration with other government agencies.
  • Excellent political acumen skills, demonstrated through experience providing strategic advice to senior leaders on sensitive issues.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish productive working relationships with a wide range of senior staff across government and with external stakeholders.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization and to external stakeholders.
