About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician in Oncology to join our team at BC Cancer – Surrey. As a key member of our Radiation Oncology Department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our mission of delivering comprehensive cancer control for the people of British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide ambulatory care to patients undergoing therapy and follow-up, working collaboratively with Radiation Oncologists and other medical specialists, nurses, radiation therapists, and clerical staff in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and excellent patient outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in radiation oncology and cancer care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Current licensure to practice as a family physician in British Columbia.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
