The Administrative Support Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of Valley Regional Hospital, providing confidential administrative support to the Director and coordinating the day-to-day operation of the Site and Director's office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Dealing with sensitive and confidential information
- Responding to inquiries and fielding calls as necessary
- Preparing correspondence and scheduling appointments and meetings
- Drafting agendas, recording, transcribing and distributing minutes
- Maintaining databases and filing systems
- Performing general office duties, such as initiating and responding to emails, processing mail, faxing, photocopying, ordering supplies, and other related duties as assigned
The Administrative Support Specialist exhibits sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the framework of the Vision, Mission, and Values of Nova Scotia Health.
About You- Post-Secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration or secretarial program
- Undergraduate degree an asset
- International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) certification is an asset
- Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years' of progressively responsible experience, providing administrative support and office coordination at the executive level, preferably within a healthcare setting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high degree of tact, judgment and confidentiality
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated competencies requiring advanced skills and abilities in all facets of modern office practices and technology and with information and meeting technologies (including Microsoft Office and Outlook)
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Permanent Full Time; 75 hours bi-weekly
$29.73 hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
