Job Title: Teacher for Persons with Autism

Canada Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher for Persons with Autism to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with autism to achieve their full potential.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Teacher for Persons with Autism to provide education and support to individuals with autism. The successful candidate will have a strong background in special education and experience working with individuals with autism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Goal Setting: Assess clients' cognitive, social, and emotional barriers to establish adaptation goals and develop individualized education and intervention plans.
  • Client Rehabilitation: Assess people's physical limitations, orientation abilities, and mobility to establish client rehabilitation goals and develop strategies to support independence.
  • Education and Training: Instruct students in reading and writing braille, lip-reading, finger spelling, and sign language, as well as the use of rehabilitative techniques, prosthetic devices, and wheelchairs.
  • Life Skills Coaching: Assist students to develop life skills, including job training and support, and provide guidance on daily living skills.
  • Collaboration and Supervision: Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs and supervise office and volunteer staff.
Requirements:
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience working with individuals with autism or in a related field.
Work Environment:

This is a permanent, full-time position with a 32-hour workweek. The work language is English.
