Special Education Teacher for Autism

At Majestic Minds Mental Health & Autism Services, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher for Persons with Autism to join our team.
Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and experienced Teacher for Persons with Autism to provide high-quality education and support to individuals with autism spectrum disorder. The successful candidate will have a strong background in special education and experience working with individuals with autism.
Key Responsibilities:- Assessment and Goal Setting: Assess clients' cognitive, social, and emotional barriers to establish adaptation goals and develop individualized education and intervention plans.
- Instruction and Support: Instruct students in reading and writing braille, lip-reading, finger spelling, and sign language, as well as provide job training and support.
- Collaboration and Supervision: Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs and supervise office and volunteer staff.
- Client Rehabilitation: Assess people's physical limitations, orientation abilities, and mobility to establish client rehabilitation goals.
- Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder.
This is a permanent position with 32 hours of work per week. The work language is English.
