We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Patient Registration Assistant to join our team at Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll. As a key member of our Integrated Patient Services team, you will be responsible for registering, discharging patients, and scheduling appointments in our electronic patient record system.
Key Responsibilities:- Registration and Scheduling: Register and discharge patient visits in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, and schedule outpatient clinics, diagnostic imaging, operating room, and endoscopy suite bookings.
- Central Patient Index and Admission, Discharges and Transfer System: Maintain an accurate Central Patient Index and Admission, Discharges and Transfer System.
- Communication and Switchboard Operations: Operate the hospital switchboard, paging systems, and other systems located in the Communication service area, and monitor hospital alarms and page all hospital codes.
- Clerical Support: Provide clerical support to other service areas of the hospital, including Health Record, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, and Diabetes Education Centre.
- Customer Service: Provide courteous and helpful responses to patient and public inquiries, and ensure Customer Service Standards are met.
- Education: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, and Medical Office Administration Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum one (1) year of recent experience in reception with telephone, switchboard, and paging systems.
- Skills: Strong computer skills specifically in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Internet, and ability to type 40 wpm.
- Personal Qualities: Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal communication skills and customer service experience, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Competitive Salary: Salary as per the Non-Union Salary Schedule ($26.06 per hour to $30.44 per hour).
