Role Summary

Reporting to the Director of Slot Operations, the Relief Slot Shift Manager is tasked with overseeing the strategic planning, performance evaluation, training, and scheduling within the Slots Operations. This dual-role position combines the responsibilities of both a Supervisor and a Slot Shift Manager, ensuring that operational initiatives are effectively managed. The Relief Slot Shift Manager will lead by example, fostering a safe and efficient work environment while engaging with department management and executives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Addressing escalated guest concerns on the gaming floor;
  • Managing large jackpot payouts, including compliance with reporting requirements;
  • Identifying and reporting irregularities and suspicious activities, and preparing incident documentation;
  • Supervising frontline team members and overseeing Supervisors in the role of Shift Manager;
  • Collaborating with Guest Relations and Player Development to implement strategies for membership growth and retention;
  • Promoting a customer service-oriented culture among all Slot Operations Team Members;
  • Ensuring timely and responsible responses to guest feedback and escalated issues;
  • Executing strategic planning initiatives within the department;
  • Monitoring and evaluating team member productivity and performance;
  • Reviewing standard operating procedures to identify efficiency opportunities;
  • Conducting expense analysis and reporting as required;
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders, including guests, management, and regulators;
  • Communicating effectively with other business units as necessary;
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements;
  • Administering the Collective Agreement and managing grievance discussions;
  • Supporting various initiatives within the Slot Operations Department;
  • Performing additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or a suitable combination of education and experience;
  • A minimum of five years of experience in casino management;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven track record in team development;
  • Exceptional communication skills with a focus on guest service;
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development;
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with relevant software;
  • Ability to obtain necessary gaming assistant registration.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Flexible schedule required to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation, including evenings and weekends.
