JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a dedicated and strategic Senior Protection and Control Officer to become a vital member of our team. This role involves engaging in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protection and control systems, ensuring the reliability and safety of our electrical facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and execute inspections, installations, and maintenance activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of hydroelectric plant equipment. Conduct assessments against established performance standards and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to established procedures. Develop and implement effective work methods.
  • Manage contract work, including preparing specifications and evaluating tenders. Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to resolve equipment performance issues.
  • Investigate equipment failures and recommend corrective actions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain oversight of equipment performance and report significant maintenance needs to management.
  • Participate in collaborative studies aimed at improving the production and distribution of power.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Assist in budget preparation and manage inventory levels for critical components.
  • Stay informed about advancements in protection and control technologies and participate in relevant training programs.
  • Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION

  • 4 years of University training

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in a hydroelectric production environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities.
  • A solid understanding of departmental procedures and policies.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to provide effective guidance.
