Clinical Nurse Specialist
Temporary Position - up to 22.5 hours per week
Hourly rate: $38.02

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) plays a pivotal role within the interdisciplinary team, delivering essential primary care services and contributing to the formulation, execution, monitoring, and assessment of programs and services tailored for the designated patient population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate expertise in contemporary, evidence-based practices of primary care delivery, focusing on health promotion and risk mitigation.
  • Exhibit strong physical assessment capabilities to assist patients during consultations.
  • Employ multi-tasking abilities to ensure efficient primary care delivery, including sharing information and educating patients during treatment.
  • Act as an advocate for patients, facilitating connections with community resources as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, including patient assessments, objectives, treatment plans, and interventions, adhering to established policies and guidelines.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality in compliance with relevant legislation and organizational policies.
  • Possess a solid theoretical foundation in nursing practices.
  • Exercise due diligence in protecting sensitive patient and personnel information.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the regulatory body.
  • Proficient in assessment, navigation, and program development.
  • Strong leadership qualities, capable of prioritizing tasks, conducting research, and managing time effectively while demonstrating critical thinking and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a commitment to collaborative practice with other healthcare professionals.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is advantageous.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is considered a significant asset.

Additional Requirements

  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • This role requires both office and onsite responsibilities.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is a condition of employment.
