About the Organization: The Timmins Economic Development Corporation is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for health and wellness initiatives. We are currently seeking a dynamic and driven individual to assume the role of Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Nursing Supervisor (NS) within our innovative health services team.
Role Overview:
In this pivotal position, reporting directly to the Clinical Director and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, the NP/NS will:
- Oversee and mentor a dedicated nursing team, ensuring high standards of care.
- Drive the development and execution of integrated nursing services aimed at enhancing the accessibility and quality of mental health and addiction treatment.
Qualifications:
- Must be a registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario in the Extended Class, RN(EC), or possess an equivalent qualification.
- Preferred certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
- A minimum of two years of experience in primary care and mental health/addictions is advantageous.
- Possession of a Certificate in Controlled Drugs and Substances Management is preferred.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring nursing staff is essential.
- Familiarity with policy development and program evaluation is an asset.
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse populations and address barriers to service access.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Current liability protection under the relevant professional body is mandatory.
- Commitment to understanding the needs of individuals facing addiction and mental health challenges.
- Excellent clinical skills and sound judgment are crucial.
- Proficiency in IT systems and virtual care platforms is preferred.
- Flexibility and a positive attitude are essential attributes for success in this role.
Additional Preferences:
- Individuals identifying as Indigenous or having knowledge of traditional healing practices are encouraged to apply.
- Fluency in both English and French is highly valued.
- Experience with mental health and/or substance use disorders, particularly in recovery, is beneficial.
