Job Title: Network Administrator

IMAX is a global leader in entertainment technology, and our employees are at the forefront of innovation. As a Network Administrator, you will play a critical role in driving major change initiatives and supporting global infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software to ensure seamless access to business operations and applications.
  2. Design, deploy, and maintain complex switching environments and wireless systems that support secure access, voice, and video applications.
  3. Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's LAN and WAN infrastructure.
  4. Configure and install client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems.
  5. Maintain multi-site network operations and software applications, operating systems, and perform regular maintenance for both private and public facilities.
  6. Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services according to established objectives.
  7. Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support.
  8. Troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware, software applications, telephones, and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
  9. Document and enforce industry best practices.
  10. Collaborate with other IT team members on network optimization.
  11. Manage and schedule firmware upgrades.
  12. Report network operational status.
  13. Take ownership of and manage assigned projects.
Requirements:
  1. 7+ years of field experience.
  2. BS/MS in Engineering (EE, CS, or CE disciplines preferred).
  3. Current CCNA and/or CCNP certification is a plus.
  4. Experience with Cisco (must have), Juniper (certification preferred) and Palo Alto Networks (certification preferred).
  5. Experience with Palo Alto Networks (certification preferred).
  6. 3+ years of experience with Cloud service network integrations. AWS and Azure experience a bonus.
  7. Thorough understanding of IEEE and IETF standards.
  8. Expert knowledge of the TCP/IP stack, its components, protocols, and support applications.
  9. Proficiency in switching and routing design and configuration.
  10. Knowledge of switching fabrics and datacenter infrastructure.
  11. Deep understanding of LAN/WAN technologies and protocols.
  12. Experience with VoIP implementation and support.
  13. Maintain network security through proper configuration of VPNs and firewalls.
  14. Familiarity with network tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, Cat tools, OpManager.
  15. Knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, proxies, and load balancers (F5 BIG-IP).
  16. Strong organizational skills to multi-task in a small business environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  17. Strong skills in network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  18. Ability to create and maintain topology and data flow diagrams for high-level executives.
  19. Familiarity with VMware and storage technologies is a plus.
  20. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
