Job Description:

The Network Administrator will be a critical part of the global Information Technology organization, driving major change initiatives and supporting global infrastructure. This role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware and software to ensure seamless access to business operations and applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Network Infrastructure Management: Install and configure routers, switches, firewalls, VPN concentrators, and security appliances to facilitate access to vital business operations and applications.
  2. Network Design and Deployment: Design, deploy, and maintain complex switching environments and wireless systems that support secure access, voice, and video applications.
  3. Network Optimization: Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's LAN and WAN infrastructure.
  4. Software Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and install client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems.
  5. Multi-Site Network Operations: Maintain multi-site network operations and software applications, operating systems, and perform regular maintenance for both private and public facilities.
  6. Project Management: Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services according to established objectives.
  7. Technical Support: Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support.
  8. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware, software applications, telephones, and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
  9. Documentation and Compliance: Document and enforce industry best practices.
  10. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other IT team members on network optimization.
  11. Firmware Management: Manage and schedule firmware upgrades.
  12. Network Status Reporting: Report network operational status.
  13. Project Ownership: Take ownership of and manage assigned projects.
Requirements:
  1. Experience: 7+ years of field experience.
  2. Education: BS/MS in Engineering (EE, CS, or CE disciplines preferred).
  3. Certifications: Current CCNA and/or CCNP certification is a plus.
  4. Technical Skills: Experience with Cisco (must have), Juniper (certification preferred) and Palo Alto Networks (certification preferred).
  5. Cloud Experience: 3+ years of experience with Cloud service network integrations. AWS and Azure experience a bonus.
  6. Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of IEEE and IETF standards.
  7. Networking Fundamentals: Expert knowledge of the TCP/IP stack, its components, protocols, and support applications.
  8. Switching and Routing: Proficiency in switching and routing design and configuration.
  9. LAN/WAN Technologies: Knowledge of switching fabrics and datacenter infrastructure.
  10. VoIP and Security: Experience with VoIP implementation and support. Maintain network security through proper configuration of VPNs and firewalls.
  11. Network Tools: Familiarity with network tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, Cat tools, OpManager.
  12. Cybersecurity: Knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, proxies, and load balancers (F5 BIG-IP).
  13. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to multi-task in a small business environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  14. Communication Skills: Strong skills in network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  15. Documentation Skills: Ability to create and maintain topology and data flow diagrams for high-level executives.
  16. Additional Skills: Familiarity with VMware and storage technologies is a plus.
