About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bakery Team Member to join our team at Michigan Diner. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory goods, including bread, pastries, and desserts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory of ingredients and supplies.
  • Sales and Merchandising: Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant environment with fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to stand for extended periods.
Working Conditions

Public transportation is available. Work Term: Permanent. Work Language: English. Hours: 30 hours per week.
