Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Supervisor - Wastewater and Byproducts to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our team members, promoting a culture of safety, and driving continuous improvement in our wastewater treatment processes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide coaching and guidance to team members to ensure the effective operation of the wastewater treatment system.
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of safety and encouraging team members to adopt safe working practices.
- Monitor and control the wastewater treatment process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Develop and implement process improvements to optimize wastewater treatment efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements.
- Conduct regular inspections of the wastewater treatment facilities and equipment, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of wastewater treatment processes, including meter and gauge readings, chemical levels, and process performance metrics.
- Participate in project teams to evaluate and implement technological improvements to wastewater treatment processes.
- Coordinate the pickup of byproducts and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Environmental Technology Diploma, Science Degree, or industrial wastewater treatment experience.
- Self-starter, flexible, team player, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks.
- Positive attitude and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
- A strong communicator, both written and oral, who is confident, and decisive.
- A valid Operator in Training (O.I.T) with some wastewater treatment experience considered an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) and familiarity with SAP and SCADA technology.
- Must have a current valid driver's license. AZ or DZ license or related experience is an asset.
