Opportunity Overview:
This position presents an engaging opportunity for a Physiotherapist dedicated to supporting adults in the community with intricate rehabilitation requirements. The Community Rehabilitation Interdisciplinary Service (CRIS) program is in search of a Physiotherapist I to deliver physical therapy, comprehensive patient evaluations, and treatment for community-residing adults facing complex and neurological challenges. This role offers the chance to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Recreation Therapy, and Social Work, among other fields.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Physiotherapist I, your primary responsibility will be to provide therapeutic interventions aimed at helping clients attain optimal physical function and independence amidst various health challenges. Your duties will encompass:
- Conducting prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, and case management.
- Involving clients and their families as key members of the healthcare team, promoting their active engagement in all care aspects.
- Collaborating with patients and families to determine, implement, and assess suitable rehabilitation strategies.
- Participating in interprofessional teams to enhance awareness, support, and engage in quality improvement initiatives.
- Contributing to quality enhancement efforts and the professional community, engaging in peer mentoring, and overseeing students.
- Providing clinical guidance to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, and Provisional Physiotherapists.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta is mandatory.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Connect Care is advantageous. Familiarity with outpatient clinic environments, interdisciplinary teamwork, virtual assessments, treatment, and group facilitation skills are preferred. Experience in supervising therapy assistants and students is also beneficial.
