Salary: $115,000 - $125,000 plus pension, benefits, and a supportive work environment

Our client, a leader in custom mechanical design and fabrication, is in search of a seasoned Financial Controller with a proven track record.
Reporting directly to the CEO and COO, the role encompasses the following responsibilities:
  • Oversee a finance team of 5, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and payroll functions.
  • Conduct monthly financial reporting and comprehensive analysis.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for 5 distinct entities.
  • Calculate and prepare monthly covenant reports.
  • Generate bank compliance documentation.
  • Manage remittances for income and excise taxes.
  • Handle weekly cash management, including AP and AR, along with monthly general ledger reporting.
  • Supervise the Project Cost Accountant and ensure accurate reporting on projects that are underperforming.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare annual budgets and report on variances quarterly with appropriate justifications or solutions.
  • Monitor banking activities diligently.
  • Act as the administrator for online banking systems, overseeing payments, wire transfers, EFTs, and cheque signing authority.
  • Authorize payments to creditors and suppliers.
  • Facilitate electronic funds transfers as necessary.
Qualifications Required:
  • CPA designation is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Jonas Construction Software and advanced Excel skills.
