Job Title: Heavy Equipment Service Technician

Brandt is actively looking for a Heavy Equipment Service Technician to join our team. This role involves the maintenance and repair of machinery used in construction and forestry operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Thoroughly assess the operational state of heavy equipment, diagnose issues, disassemble and reassemble machinery, procure necessary parts, and execute repairs.
  2. Utilize secondary materials and tools in a safe and efficient manner.
  3. Employ various instruments, hand tools, power tools, and computer systems as required.
  4. Document all relevant machine details, actions performed, and time spent on work orders accurately.
  5. Continuously evaluate service-related hazards to ensure that tasks are performed safely and in accordance with established standards.
  6. Leverage computer applications and information systems (such as John Deere Service Advisor) for maintenance documentation, inspections, and diagnostics.
  7. Refer to parts catalogs to identify and order parts through appropriate channels.
  8. Conduct road tests on equipment and verify the functionality of attachments as necessary.
Essential Skills
  1. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with customers, service teams, and branch staff.
  2. Ability to meet physical demands, including climbing, lifting, and prolonged standing.
  3. Capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Experience
  1. Prior mechanical experience in a heavy equipment setting is advantageous.
  2. Certification as a Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment Technician trade or an equivalent recognized qualification is preferred.
  3. A commitment to exceptional customer service and service quality is essential.
