Position Overview
The Senior Supply Chain Executive is crucial in steering strategic initiatives that underpin the accelerated growth of Acuity Brands, particularly through international expansion, penetration into new vertical markets, and enhancement of product vitality. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, this position is tasked with defining the strategic trajectory of the supply chain, crafting solutions for commercial advancement, enhancing margins, and achieving key integration performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and manage a comprehensive sourcing strategy aimed at optimizing service levels across diverse customer channels, focusing on risk management, cost efficiency, and product reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams during the initial phases of product development to identify and engage optimal suppliers, ensuring cost-effective sourcing and high-quality materials for innovative designs.
- Lead the deployment of the Integration Business Planning strategy, aligning strategic goals with operational plans.
- Contribute to the design and execution of a global footprint strategy to facilitate international growth.
- Drive the digital transformation of the supply chain, ensuring excellence through the adoption of best-in-class processes, systems, and tools, positioning the supply chain as a competitive advantage.
- Implement corporate indirect purchasing policies and assist other functions in identifying optimal partners and establishing favorable terms.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for strategic initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Develop and refine the make-or-buy strategy, assessing the best approach for raw materials and finished goods across various regions.
- Offer guidance on inventory management to ensure optimal service levels and inventory turnover.
- Lead and nurture a high-performance team, focusing on recruitment, development, and retention of talent while driving accountability for results.
- Establish a robust system for data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure data integrity across the supply chain, developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance.
- Support the company's ESG initiatives within the supply chain function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, demonstrating success in strategic sourcing, integrated business planning, and digital transformation.
- Experience within the electronics sector is preferred.
- Proven ability to navigate ambiguity in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience in guiding cross-functional teams and managing change initiatives.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
