We are seeking a highly skilled Information Management Specialist to join our team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our data governance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of our health system data assets.
Key Responsibilities- Data Analysis and Quality Improvement: Conduct data analysis on relational databases to identify and address data quality issues, and provide expert advice on the development and maintenance of national and provincial data standards.
- Data Governance and Compliance: Develop and implement a data quality framework, monitor adherence to standards, and develop action plans to improve trust in and usability of the data.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Provide consultation and educational support to data stewards, and promote optimal use of data standards across the Nova Scotia health system.
- Data Documentation and Maintenance: Maintain current data documentation and advise on classification code selection, interpretation, data quality issues, and appropriate use of data elements for specific purposes.
We are looking for a candidate with a bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 7 years of related experience in data management, data analysis, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and project management skills, and be able to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
