About the Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services is seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team in the North Zone. As a member of our Intake Team, you will play a critical role in responding to callers and conducting tele-triage of addiction and mental health calls. Your expertise will be essential in determining the appropriate level of service required for each caller, enrolling them into relevant services, and providing brief intervention and solution-focused support when needed.

About the Role:

As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for using evidence-informed treatment modalities to support individuals experiencing significant mental health difficulties. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough screenings and intake assessments to determine the level of service required for each caller
  • Enroll callers into relevant AHS Addiction and Mental Health services
  • Provide brief intervention and solution-focused support as needed
  • Triangulate calls to relevant services
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment services

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment and psychotherapy
  • Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a mental health setting
  • Knowledge of evidence-informed treatment modalities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
